Exploring Robot Navigation, Vision-Language Models, Physical AI, Digital Twins, and AI Infrastructure

The Smart Robotics Technical Seminar Series brought together participants from industry, academia, research institutions, and related organizations at the GIS Taichung Xinwuri Convention Center.
The National Center for AI Robotics (NCAIR) held the “Smart Robotics Technical Seminar Series” on October 12, 2026, at GIS Taichung Xinwuri Convention Center. The event brought together participants from industry, academia, research institutions, and related organizations to exchange insights on key technologies and practical applications in smart robotics.
In the morning session, Dr. Ting-Jen Yeh of National Tsing Hua University delivered a talk on “Path Planning for Robot Obstacle Avoidance and Navigation,” introducing core concepts and practical approaches to autonomous robot navigation and path planning, covering both fundamental principles and real-world applications.
The afternoon session featured Dr. Ching-I Huang of National Tsing Hua University, who presented “Vision-Language Models for Natural-Language-Guided Robotics,” focusing on the integration of visual understanding, language instructions, and robotic systems. This was followed by Mr. Chih-Chung Wu, Robotics Technical Director at NVIDIA, who spoke on “Accelerating Real-World Robot Deployment with Physical AI and Digital Twins,” highlighting the use of simulation, digital twins, and Physical AI in robot development and deployment.
The final session was presented by a technical team from the National Center for High-performance Computing(NCHC), introducing Taiwan AI RAP and sharing resources and technologies spanning AI infrastructure, model fine-tuning, and intelligent applications.
Through a diverse program covering robot navigation, vision-language models, Physical AI, digital twins, and AI infrastructure, the seminar provided a platform for technical exchange across Taiwan’s industry, academic, and research communities. NCAIR will continue to organize related technical seminars and exchange activities to foster collaboration and advance the development and deployment of smart robotics technologies.
